Interior Design Notes on Mountain View

Asheville Area

Our design for this Asheville area home was inspired by the beautiful view this house has of the surrounding Appalachians. Our inspiration translated into contemporary furnishings, natural materials, eco-friendly options and a palette inspired by the vivid mountain sunsets.

To achieve the feeling of a modern and restful retreat, first we chose house exterior colors in two shades of natural green to compliment the stonework, as well as the surrounding scenery and rolling North Carolina hillsides. Bringing the vision inside, the interior doors were hand-finished to blend with the walnut hardwood flooring.

The Master Bedroom is a blend of woods with modern attached nightstands. The fashionable lamps, with their curved organic bases, a perfect height for the bed’s sillhouette, are Hubbardton Forge.  All the bedding is 100% Bamboo. Accent walls were used both here and in the foyer to create both a frame for, and a symbiosis with, the artwork.

For window coverings we chose the Hunter Douglas top/down, bottom/up Duette Architella’s with the lite rise feature which has all hidden cords. You may leave the top open by just tapping the shade, letting in natural sunlight while maintaining privacy.
